When would you need this?
Depending on recent storm conditions, when your insurance policy requires that you maintain your roof; as a rule of thumb if your roof is older then 7 years, if there is mould appearing on ceilings or if you can see cement on roof ridge caps cracking.

When would you need this
Normally if the roof slates are reasonably sound and largely salvageable for re-use but there is widespread roof slate slipping or water leaks. It may then be a more economical option than replacement — as new roofing slate is very expensive
